About

Astronomy club of Loyola School was started by Father Richard Kenna who arrived at Jamshedpur, all the way from America late in the 60's. Astronomy in the Steel City (Jamshedpur) was anonymous but was converted to an interest among the students and teachers. He had brought down telescopes of large as well as small sighting range.
Astronomy from then has now been evolved and students from our school have been going to Research And Space Organisations like NASA and ISRO.The moderator of the club is our Physics sir, Sir Debjyoti Bose who has got immense knowledge upon the topic. We usually take meetings on weekends for our members which consists of students from Classes 6-12. We often give our time also on the topic of Astro-Physics like Black-Holes, Space-Time Travel, and various theories like Big-bang, Oscillation and String theory etc. This way we try to make the students take a keen interest in the usual not yet fully defined science.

Any doubts or ideas are always welcomed in this club.
